Year 3 - Stone Age Experience

Year 3 Stone Age Experience at Head of Steam
Last week, Year 3 visited the wooded area at Head of Steam to experience what it would have been like to live during the Stone Age. The children were immersed into a Stone Age world, thanks to Roy, our wonderful guide who took us back in time. The children began their experience by creating a human time line to show the chronology of history since the Mesozioc Era. The children then took part in a number of activities including making a shelter, attempting to make a fire, planting seeds using antlers as tools and grinding wheat seeds to make flour.
A wonderful learning experience was had by all and we learnt lots of interesting facts that we didn't know before!
